Issue with C/Port docking station

Question

I have a C640 docked to a Latitude C/port. My problem is when I attach my cat5 cable to the C/Port Ethernet port it toggles every few seconds between connected and cable unplugged.  I have a solid green light and the flashing amber data transfer light on the port.  I've tried uninstalling and then installing the drivers. The NIC is a 3C905TX. I have a 3C920 on the laptop which works fine. Is my C/Port NIC bad or am I missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried replacing the cat5? I would try that and also maybe try another NIC when not in the docking station. Just to rule the station NIC out.
