Killing HP Ethernet Boot Agent
(Also posted in Dimension Bios forum)
I ended up with a broadcom network card as a pull from a scrapped compaq/HP server. The model is NC7770. The card works fine, the only problem is that everytime I turn on the computer I get a message from its boot agent (HP Ethernet Boot Agent) directly after the Dell POST completes -- it prompts me to press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup (which loads the Dell F2 setup screen).
I realize that this isn't a dell card, but is there anyway possible to disable this insanely annoying and harmful behavior? I can't reset the machine remotely because it hangs on that screen.
I removed the card from the boot order without success (it was listed as MBA v3.2.1 in the boot menu).
I used the broadcom dos diagnostics to disable MBA support -- with no joy.
I googled and was only able to find two other frustrated souls like myself.
Do I need to reflash the PXE or EEPROM portion of the card? Can probably do either, just need to know if it will work
Optiplex GX520 with latest bios -- I will post elsewhere if no responses.
