LAN Settings missing
Hi All,
I am new to the forum so apologies for my lack of IT skills and if my problems has already been mentioned before.
I need help. My Dell PC recently got a virus and therefore needed a clean re-install of XP to freshen things up.
However, in doing this I have lost my LAN Settings. So I do not get the LAN Icon in system tray (the 2 computers icon), when I do IPCONFIG in Command I get something like Windows IP Configuration. No IP Addresses or anything.
It looks like the PC is not even recognising the Network Card on the PC?? Therefore, I can't connect to the Internet!
Help, is there a driver I can re-install?
I got a Dell Dimension 1100
Is there something in the BIOS?
Anything, anyone help please.
Cheers

After reinstalling Windows, you need to install the drivers for all devices and these need to be installed in a specific order. See the following:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?journalid=4ED81717490911DC84EB0DC67E2C6D57&docid=3690A8CC21FAF290E040A68F5B281A12
All drivers for your system can be found on the Drivers and Utilities CD that came with your computer or can be downloaded from the the following site.

I just tested both links by clicking on them in my previous reply. They both work.
