Latitude c610 Modem Driver
I have recently received the above computer. It was wiped clean, including the drivers, and did not come with support discs. I installed Windows XP (clean). Under Device Manager, it has a Question mark beside PCI Modem. I downloaded from the Dell site the R45749 modem driver. The setup window should the modem was successfully installed. However, the computer still does not recognise the modem. I have tried to "reinstall driver" and pointed the Hardware Update Wizard to c:\dell\drivers\r45749\WinXP but receive a message that the wizard cannot find the necessary software. Did I download the wrong drivers? What am I doing wrong? I have read through the majority of the postings on this message board and have not found anything else to help. .... waiting patiently for your expertise.

rum_19,
I’m not sure exactly what modem you have, but you should go to Dell’s file library and go to the communications drivers fro that system with that operating system and there are several drivers that you can try.

Look on the bottom of the notebook. It will have a stick for the modem with the model number on it. Most, not all, C610 have a PCTel 2304WT modem daughter card and the driver for this is PCTelMDC and the Dell number is R53654.exe you can do a search on the Dell download site to find it or just go to the download site and look for PCTelMDC. Here's a direct link
Although it might not work.
