Latitude C610/C510 Modem
I just purchased a used Latitude but cannot get dial-up. In device mgr both 3CXM356 modem and the PCI have exclamation points. Error code 10 on the 356 says "moden cannot start". I tried downloading driver but when I put it in it said it was one of several disks and I should put the last one in. I only have one. PCI says error code 28. I got a Dell because I've been so happy with my desktop. Help! Right now this is just a big paperweight.

Click {here} to open your Latitude C610 Download site
Change "Product Model" if it is a C510.
Select your Operating System (Win98, Win2000 etc.) and then "Find Downloads".
Then look under "Communications" for Modem Drivers and Network for the "PCI".
If you are using another 'third party' modem, other than one of the Dell Supplied on that site,
you may need to try their WebSite for a Driver Download.

Hi,
To add to Art's help, remove the cover underneath and see what modem you have. There is about 3 brands it could be. The modem is the small card held in with 2 screws. A common one is PCtel. You can then load the correct driver. The drivers should be the same for a C510 as C610. The C610 had a Pentium CPU and bigger battery than the C510. ( the C510 was a Celeron )
