Latitude D600 gets stuck when detecting wireless connection

Hello,

 

I have a Dell Latitude D600 with a Broadcom Wireless network card. it worked fine in the first few months, but after that everytime i connect to an wireless network the laptop gets stuck for a few minutes, stuck meaning nothing can be accessed, start menu can't be opened etc.

this doesn't happen when connecting to the internet through LAN.

 

if anyone knows this problem and can help....
