Skamaraju,

What type of security are you using in your wireless router?

Ypou are NOT using Mac Address Filtering, correct?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I think I am using WEP security key. Not sure about MAC address. My previous Laptop used to connect without any problem. Could you please eloborate on MAC address and tell me what to set and what not?

Skamaraju,

A Mac Address is a twelve digit number and may look something like this...

00:00:00:00:00:00

It will contain numbers and letters and the setting should be disabled unless you or the person that setup your network enabled it. How to login to your wireless router

I would use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings in your wireless router and then see how your connection is.

While you're connected, you could try this...

Hit the Windows key and the R key at the same time. Type CMD

and hit enter. Type

ipconfig /all

hit enter and post the results here.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for your reply. Somehow after an overnights rest, my router and laptop have started to work normally. I have saved your recommendations for future use in case I get the problem again.
