Latitude E6410 - Adding Bluetooth

I have a user that wants to add bluetooth to his E6410. I cannot find accessories on Dell site that will add this functionality.

I see that the E6400 model supports the BT 370 card/module (on the Dell site) and there is a slot marked WPAN (near the fan/heatsink), but the design of the E6410 is different. It not incorporates the DellOn feature, and that takes the place of the WPAN slot. I see there is an open slot near the bottom of the device, with WWAN and something else noted.

Does anyone know if the E6410 will take any internal add on cards? I finally saw that the 375 chip is the factory chip, and it will require hard core disassembly to install it.

I was looking for something a little less drastic.

I recently bought a second hand E6410 thus I'm responding to previous unanwsered posts for the sake of anyone else who is researching Bluetooth and Latitude ON Flash.

The Bluetooth card connector is located on the front side of the laptop and not at the rear. It is located directly under where it says LATITUDE | E6410 on the LHS of the Palm Rest panel, in the section above the keyboard next to the monitor. Access to it will require taking out the coin-cell battery, the heatsink/fan, the LED cover, the keyboard and roughly 8 screws holding the LHS of the Palm Rest panel in place. You don't need to remove the entire Palm Rest panel, you just need enough movement of it to access the Bluetooth card connector.

The Latitude e6410 Service Manual states that you need to remove about 20 items. Apart from the battery and those mentioned above, nothing else needs to be removed. You may need to unhinge the monitor to move it out of the way so that you can properly open out the corner of the Palm Rest.

Once you're in there, simply connect the connector cable (which is built in to the Bluetooth card) to the connector, then position the card and screw it in place (1 x screw).

If anyone needs more info on installing/removing the Bluetooth card or on the Latitude ON Flash module, please message me.

As far as where to purchase these items is concerned I can only suggest to try eBay or hunt around online. :)

I got a dell wireless 1703 mini Pci card from eBay witch has WiFi and Bluetooth combine and replaced the old WiFi card with it and its working perfect. i am  using a Bluetooth mouse and wireless headphones right now with  no problem, i'm going to try another one with double channel next and see if it works but its way easier than taking the whole laptop apart.

Did you ever get to try one with a double channel?
