Are any other computers able to connect to your wireless network?  Do you have MAC address filtering enabled on the router?  Is any form of encryption enabled on the router.  If you don't know or don't remember, have you tried resetting the router to its default settings by holding in the reset button on the back of the router?

I have an old laptop and can conect to my wireless network just fine.  I see a MAC address when I click the network tab for my connection on the Dell.  It just keeps scanning and scanning for a connection, even though it sees the MAC address.

Last night when I was working with it, a message popped up saying not all hardware has been set up and my connection may not work.

Maybe it's possible my network card isn't getting set up properly.  Probably what I gat for buying a cheap network card.
