Linksys router problems

Question

first time post, better make it good I am having the internet just drop out from time to time. when I go to the wireless internet montior that came with my card, it says that I still am conneted to the network, and my ip adress is still there. I try repair connetion, but that only works some of the time. The times were that doesnt work, I goto the router and modem, and unplug them from the power, reboot them, and internet is back. Why does the router do this? Is there a fix for it? Specs of network: -Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter -Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router -Linksys Cable Modem BEFCMU10 -Comcast Internet Provider -Dell B110 -3 computers on network: Two On Wifi with the Linksys PCI adapter, and one on a ethernet cable

does this happen to all the wireless laptops (2). there might also be a firnware update for the router. call linksys and they can help u through it. also i would buy the longer antennas that go to the router. they give u longer and stronger range. amazon has then at under 50 bucks. since i bought the antennas my 9300 laptop with the 2200 card doesnt drops connection like it used to and i know everyone with this card 2200 intel card has issues. Is your deskop that is wired to the router dropping connection to if so then its the router or modem not the laptops. If the laptops are dropping connection then something is up with the router. If u still run into trouble linksys is a free call and there excellent with there tech support. When i first got my linksys wrt54gs router the first thing they told me was to update the firmware. Then they walked me through setting up my network. I was up and running and learned it all in 45   minutes.   goodluck

Before you update your router's firmware be sure to get the correct version for your router. There are about 5 different versions of your router. You can find the version of your router by looking on the bottom of the router.

i would get rid of the router and have one computer connected. see if u lose connection drops if it does modem is the culprit.

Also, I forgot to sayt this, but all the computers are desktops. And when I lose connetion, everyone does. Didnt say that.
