Linksys wireless issue with a Latitude D600

I am trying to install a Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter (Model WPC54GX) in my D600. When I insert the card, the computer freezes. When I remove the card, the computer functions normally. I have verified that the card works by installing it on a C410 computer and believe I have downloaded all the drivers.

Any thoughts as to why this may be happening? I do not believe my D600 has an internal wireless card installed, but I am not certain as this is a refreshed computer from my previous employer.

Did you install the drivers for th adapter first before inserting the card? Linksys adapter installs are set to run the setup program and install the card when the software says to.

I did that first and the software appeared to install correctly, but when I inserted the card, the system froze. I then uninstalled the software and just inserted the card, same results. I finally shut the computer down, inserted the card and started the computer. It froze at the Window's screen.

It the card did not work in the C410, I would assume the card was bad. I am also wondering if the PC slot is bad as well but when I open the device manager, it appears to be functioning properly.

try loading just the driver and not the software.
