linux driver for winmodem - 2650 inspirion

Help?

   Does anyone know if Dell has a linux driver for there winmodem on a inspiron 2650?

If not ,can you recommend a web site that may have one.

One is available for the Actiontec MD560RD - not from Dell though.  Try the Software - Linux-Notebook (non-Dell installed) forum.

Well if u just purchased you laptop u might be unlucky enough to have a broadcom modem.(type lspci -v)

As far as i can find out there is no working modem for the broadcom modem.

There is a driver which finds the device, but does not work, Yet. It is available from www.smlink.com

They may suport it soon

I thought there was a linux consortium effort to write one for the Broadcom modem chipset and was released in mid-December as posted in these forums?
