Looking for new DSL service

Being older than dirt itself, I have a tendency to be a little grumpy at times. I got my bill for DSL from BellSouth and it was $76 for last month. I called and I can get no sense out of them except that is what I owe.

When I got this computer it had some various offers on it, but in wanting to get rid of all unnecessary things, I deleted it.

So my question is, are they good deal's and if so which one should I go with. Also, how do I do I join under Dell in order to take advantage of the savings.
I would appreciate any information or help you can give me.
Thank you again

it really depends what's available in your area.  I tend to prefer cable to DSL but shop around.  Lots of places have great rates for new subscribers.

You can get a 1 year commitment to verizon for 14.95 a month and the first month is free!  the speed is 785/128  Or something like that.

I certainly do appreciate you gentlemen taking the time and trouble to answer my post. It would seem that no matter who I get, they have to go through BellSouth. One person that I spoke to has been waiting for his Verison for a month. The hold up is BellSouth. They don't like competition, BellSouth used to be one of the most ethical and helpful companies in existence, but since this administration has passed the laws that they have, now they are the most unethical and greedy companies around.

It would seem that every time we have something go wrong or there is bad weather, there is sunshine and a nice rainbow at the end of it all. My son-in-law own's the ISP (that's how they met, he had the Internet service where she worked) but his area ended eight blocks from where I live. Any way, they worked out a deal with the person that has this area and now I have a nice dedicated T-1 line and I certainly cannot complain about the price.

wow ...  those usually run around $500+ a month.  cable or dsl can be faster on downloading, but the bandwidth is much less variable with a T1 -- not too mention you can use it to upload :)

The grandchildren just got through playing a game on the Internet, they really like the difference. With DSL extreme, they would have an occasional lag, but they say there will be no lag with this.

Personally, dial-up would do me just fine. I keep their children all the time that they are working, so they definitely want their children happy.
