I am sure you have upgraded the firmware, right? That particular model with the "S" suffix stands for Speedboost. All that does is compress the headers on each packet and nothing else. A waste of money in my opinion.
The WR54G has alwasy been a solid performer. You did not say of you were wirelessly gaming, if so, RIP. You are not going to get the same download speed with wireless as you do with a wired connection.

Hey, guys, I ain't tryin' to be a wise guy or nothin', but you might as well be talkin' in Chinese as just naming Model Numbers ----
How's about the BRAND NAMES, so that the rest of us dummies can participate in the discussion !!???
As for the wireless being much slower on connection speeds ---- can you be a bit more specific ---- as in how much slower and why.
Any help would be much appreciated !!
Peace.

That was pretty much rude/ignornant.
I took the model number, put it in yahoo and the first one that came up was the brand name.
