loose of network printer control

Question

I noticed since yesterdays windows 7-64 update I can no longer print checks on my Canon Pixima MX850 multifunction printer. I  also noticed that I can still print from Microsoft Word but I cannot select the paper source (and maybe the print quality). Does anyone have a clue as to what is happening? I did reinstall the latest Canon driver with no improvement. My printer is on the network.

I removed the printer in the printer control panel and then added a new printer. Windows found the printer, I then selected it and ok'ed it and now everything works. I don't know what happened but all is well now.
