Losing Wireless Connection

First, thanks to jmwillis for assistance over the last couple of days. I have an update -- that I'm hoping means I'm narrowing down my wireless connection problem.

jmwillis suggested that I make sure Windows is managing the connection -- or something to that extent by checking the available checkbox.

I do that -- and it works fine. But then, randomly, it seems -- it will lose the connection. If I go to Dos command, and do ipconfig/release -- then go into Network Connections and the tab that has the "Let Windows manage" checkbox, it's unchecked again.

If I've released the IP address, and then check the box, bingo -- it reconnects. But I can't figure out how to make it stay connected, and that checkbox stay checked.

Man, do I feel stupid. Thanks in advance for any additional assistance.

The only other thing I know to tell you to do is run Winsockfix for XP.  Google will find the program for you.
