LOST INTERNET CONNECTION
PC is a Dell Dimension 8400, 6 years old with XP SP3 and IE8.
When turned on yesterday the internet connection was gone, poof. PC is connected to an AT&T Uverse router, and has worked fine for 2 years. Another pc is also connected to this router and has no problems. I even tried changing the ethernet cable, but that didn't help. Shut down Uverse and restarted - ng.
Network Connection screen is blank. Network Setup Wizard goes through the steps but cannot create a connection. Device Manager is clear, no yellow exclamations anywhere - and I checked the details and copied them below:
Modem: Intel 537EP V9x DF PCI
Network Adapter: Broadcom Net Xtreme 57 xx Gigabit Controller
Processor: Intel Pentium 4

Problem has been solved by uninstalling the Network Adapter and right clicking "Computer" to find new hardware.
