Lost my Internet
Using Me through an SMC router and a cable modem. I de-installed Norton AntiVirus and loaded McAfee VirusScan. Since then (I don't believe in coincedences) I can't access the Internet. Tried Netscape, IE, and tried using Outlook Express. All pgms run but none can connect. Tried a diff cable, a diff router port, and a diff PC on the router. No signs of a problem. The other PC works fine. No sign of a virus. Tried de-installing McAfee but didn't help. I'm stumped.
Thanks for any help.

I don't hear you saying you uninstalled the McAfee (again), did you?
Go to "Manage" (My PC) and look at all the services. STOP and disable any that have "Mc"something or "Symantec" or "Norton"
While you are there, STOP and Disable four services, too:
* Computer Browser * DNS * Messenger * IPsec (in the last case, change to "Manual" rather than "Disable"

Latest update - My problem appears to be gone. The "Manage" recomendation didn't help because this is Windows Me and it doesn't have Manage. Disabling all processes related to anti-virus SW didn't help because apparently there was a bad setting, probably in the wonderful registry, not a pgm that was blocking me. I had tried restarting in Safe Mode with nothing running and still couldn't access the Internet. So as I was contemplating tossing the PC out of a window, I stumbled on the checkpointing tab in msconfig. I didn't remeber that it was around in Me but there it was. So I reverted to a checkpoint three weeks back, and the problem was gone. I haven't tinkered with McAfee yet, but it's still installed. Can't believe I didn't think of this earlier...
Anyhow, thanks to all who offered help.
