lost network/password

Question

I have been given an old office computer to clean out and give to my grandmother to use for email.  (Dell Dimension 4600)  The office that gave it to me used a network and required a login.  Unfortunately, before they gave me the computer, they did not remove the login requirement.  They gave me a username and password, but there is no network to verify it and therefore I cannot access Windows (Windows XP).  They also gave me the disks that came with the computer and I had hoped to reload Windows and wipe the entire hard drive clean.  This is not working for me.  Even with the disk in the drive, the computer just boots normally and goes straight to 'Ctrl/Alt/Delete to login'.  I am not computer illiterate, but I am also not overly well versed in them.  Can anyone help me?  What are my options?   Thanks in advance.

Try pressing the F12 key before Windows loads.  This should bring up a menu giving you the choice to boot from the CD.   Steve
