As a follow-up, I contacted Dell Support via chat. They said my problem of not being able to connect to the Internet was probably caused by a virus or some software I had loaded. I tried to explain that this is a new computer out of the box and I couldn't connect to the Internet, so any virus would have already been on the computer.

I was then told to call technical support for a "nominal fee" and they might be able to help me.

As a long-time Dell user with five Dell computers in the house, this experience have been very disappointing.

One other problem with the computer is that it wobbles when I try to type. One pad on the bottom is higher than the others.

As a second follow up, I was on tech support for 1 1/2 hours, and they had no solution. Also, the monitor resolution says is is at 1020 but is really at 800X600. They could not suggest a solution to that either. I sent them pictures of the computer, showing how it wobbles.

This computer is a loser and not-ready-for-prime-time. I am surprised Dell would release something so lame. I said I wanted to return it and get my money back. they said I would have to pay a $40 restocking fee, since they had "solved my problems."

I hate to say it, but this will be the last Dell product I would even attenpt to buy.

I've had a very similar problem.  Bought a Mini 10v 3 months ago.  It worked well until two weeks ago when suddenly it could not load a web-page, and became incredibly slow and impossible to use over our wireless network.  Nothing changed on the Mini 10v, or with the wireless network setup.  All our other computers continue to work flawlessly with our wireless router.  The wireless diagnostics on the Mini 10v showed no problems with the wireless connection.  When connecting the mini 10v to the router directly with an ethernet cable, the networking issues disapear and the internet connection is normal.  We called dell support and they said it was a software issue (not covered by the warrenty) and that we'd be charged a "nominal fee" for them to fix it.  They even claimed they could guarantee 100% that they could fix the problem.  It almost seems that this is a known issue with their product, but they are charging extra to fix it.  I've googled this issue, but cannot find anything that describes this same problem except for this post.  We're incredibly frustrated and annoyed at dell.  This is practically a brand new laptop, that is unusable over a wireless connection, yet they will not stand behind their product and fix it.   The entire reason someone purchases a mini netbook type computer is to use it over a wireless network!  If we do end up paying their "ransom" to get our working computer back I'll come back and post some details on what they did to fix the issue.

pricardo99,

Go to device manager, click on network, then click on the wireless card, properties. Go to Antenna Diversity and change it to Aux.

Sometimes on my wifes Mini 1011v, you might also have to press the F2 button to turn on the wireless connection.
