missing my drivers
hello, i have encountered problem with my Ethernet connection.Once i had my hard disk changed due to overheating ever since i have been suffering from Ethernet connection.After i changed my hard disk i had install windows 8 at first and it didn't showed Ethernet connection when i plugged in cable, while the same cable works with another laptop.So, i installed windows 7 to test OS problem but no improvement.I feel like some drivers are missing from my device but i couldn't find it.My device is Vostro 3450 core i5 OS windows 7 and i am using adsl connection.please help.

You need the Realtek RTL8111E Gigabit Ethernet Controller:

Hi anitamhj,
The Device Manager screenshot displays that the Ethernet Drivers are installed. However, I would recommend you to re-install the Realtek RTL8111E Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver from the link shared by natakuc4. If the Unknown device still appears under Other devices in Device Manager, please share its Hardware ID with us so that we can check out the missing device driver. Here are the steps:

thank you natakuc4 for your reply but i still found problem while running setup files from above link.This is what i got as error.

this is what i got as error.I don't know what last disk it is taking about.And regarding my hardware Ids, i think you are saying device under Computer catagory.so, this is the id of my hardware...

Saharsh ji, i have successfully installed Realtek RTL811E GIgabit Ethernet
Controller from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers and i no more have
"Unknown device" inside Other devices. But still i encountering the same
Ethernet connection problem.My laptop works fine with wireless
connection.When i run troubleshoot it shows "plug ethernet cable" error. please help

It could simply be that the port is broken.
It is possible. The Gigabit Ethernet port on one of my M6300 was zapped during a thunderstorm.
