MOBILE BROADBAND DEVICE NOT FOUND
I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD DELL STUDIm O 1747 (YEP IT WAYS A TON), AND AFTER I start up the ole computer and Icon comes on a bit later in the desktop tray that says "mobile broad band not found. I am quite sure it came with the Original Operating system (windows 7). and I have been considering reinstalling the operating system provided by Dell which I still have for Windows 7....Which is a hasslel the last resort...I tried doing a recovery on the system but I will be damed if I can remember the password even though the computer boots up and I get my display window every time...Any ideas out there in Dell Forum Land?

Hi citizen2201,
Studio 1747 system is shipped with the following WWAN cards :
Please share the mobile broadband card model installed in your system. You may find the information about the WWAN card in the invoice of system.
If no WWAN card has been shipped with your system, you may uninstall the mobile broadband application as it will not work without a WWAN card.
Please reply with the findings. Will take it further from here.

The Wireless 1520 NWLAND Mini card came with the Computer when I purchased it new about 2.5 to 3 years ago. Something must have changed over the last 3 weeks when my nephew was screwing around with my computer

I ran Reboot pressed F12, Entered Reboot Menu and ran Dianostics on my 3 year old Dell 1747...Everything came out ok. With respect to the Dell Wireless 1520 wireless NW LAN MINI CARD. I WAS CONSIDERING GOING INTO THE F-8 KEY AND SELECTING REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER ETC....IN AN EFFORT TO CURE WHAT THE HECK IS AILING THIS OLD LAPTOP THAT I REALLY LIKE...

Hi citizen2201,
The wireless card you shared is not a mobile broadband card and is a WLAN card. If you are able to connect to the wireless internet, you may uninstall the mobile broadband application as there is no supported hardware device on your system. You may click on Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program (or Program and Features) to uninstall an application.
Repair your computer option will help you in fixing software related issues. However, would like to know about the other issues that you are experiencing. With a proper understanding, I would be able to help you with precise troubleshooting steps. I would be glad to assist you.
