modem helper

When using tool Helper Modem appeared to me the warning:  Code of result:  62 -  Obligatory restoration of the modem

Along with that problem codec of audio crystal has had faults, since even though I have resintalado several times driver when I return to connect my laptop returns has to present/display the elimination of the audio one.

I bought my I equip Inspiron 8200 in March of 2003.

Somebody has some idea if the fault it implies to change the component hardware of the modem or is some other less severe and effective solution

Make sure you have the latest modem and audio drivers.  Then boot to Windows Safe Mode (F8 as Windows just starts) and go to Device Manager, delete all modem entries, all audio entries, then reboot and let the modem and audio be found and drivers loaded.  See if that allows the modem to work.
