Modem Recognition Problem on XP - Newly installed

Question

Here is my service code - 6XX7K01   My OptiPlex came to me from overstock.com with Windows 2000.  I have recently installed XP.  Aside from the fact that I have 2 OS's now (2000 and XP), XP will not recognize my modem.  I've tried downloading the drivers from Dell, everything I can think of, but nothing seems to work.  I reinstalled XP last night, and in the device manager, I see that theres' a big yellow question mark next to this device:  'PCI Simple Communications Controller'  I clicked for it to update the drivers, but it said that no drivers could be found.  Could this be my modem problem?  When I downloaded the .exe file for the drivers for the modem from Dell, when I would unzip the file to install, the computer would think for a second, and then nothing would happen.  This is really driving me crazy.  Can someone please help me!?!  Thanks!

Sorry for so many posts to the board - I hit enter too many times.    I suppose I should also put that my computer is the OptiPlex GX 150

You can see from the original Configuration that this modem did not come with the dell. Therefore you wont find Dell Drivers for it.

What are the markings on the modem?
