Modem updates

Question

I have noticed that on the microsoft.com windows update website, under optional hardware updates, there is an Arris - Networking - Arris touchstone device Arris Networking software update released in April, 2007   I have an arris touchstone telephony modem. I was wondering if the software update is nessary. I haven't had any problems with my modem except for the fact that my modem has gone out twice already, however hitting the reset button fixes the problem. Justin

Two things to ALWAYS remeber about driver updates:   1.  Avoid getting any hardware driver from Microsoft, rather get them from the manufacturer.   2.  Most imporant, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
