Modem vs Network hook up?????
We just purchased a new computer and we thought it had a modem hook-up so we could use the dial-up connection that we have. When we got it we realized that we only have the network hook up and no modem hook-up....
Do you know what connections can be hooked up through the network? We're looking at getting high speed, will that help?

Yes, high-speed (broadband). The Ethernet can connect to either:
* cable modem (Comcast, Cox, Road Runner, Earthlink, etc.)
* DSL (such as Verizon, etc.)
* satellite (Dish, etc.)
If you want to continue your dial-up, you should be able to get something like a USB External Modem to provide your modem functionality to dial. Just one example:
