Moden on Hold

I am trying to enable modem on hold.  The phone rings but I cannot acceot the call.  When I click on the accept icon it does not prompt me to pick up handset.  Then I get a message that the call was not accepted.  What should I do to allow  this setup.  I have call waiting.
My modem is an "intel(r)537EP 9x DF PCI"

Hi Frank & Dana,

If you have your dial up connection set to turn off call waiting (ex. *70) you will have to remove it in order for your modem to ring when a call comes in.  You will have to modify your connection settings.  I hope this will help you.  I am fairly new in this area myself.

thank you user70 for your reply. we found out since submitting our question,  no one at msn could help us with, that msn does NOT support v.92. so there goes that plan. we have found another server of a  call waiting feature that we can use.  thank you for your help. frank and dana
