Need Help Connecting To Internet Through Network

Hi,
I currently have Comcast High Speed internet on my computer. I also have a Netgear wireless router. I am trying to hook it up so I can use the internet on both computers in the house but I don't know how. I want to hook up the modem on the computer downstairs and use the router for wireless interent on my laptop upstairs. Can someone tell me how to do this? I just can't figure it out. Thank you.

Do you have the manual that came with the Netgear Router.  The manual has easy to follow instructions for setting this up.  Basically, you need to shut off the cable modem, connect the ethernet port on the modem to the Internet (or WAN) port on the router with an ethernet cable.  You then need to connect the ehternet port on the computer that is closest to the router and modem to one of the LAN ports on the router with an ethernet cable.   Turn on the modem, wait a few mintues then turn on the router.  You should now be able to connect to the router's configuration page through the computer that is wired to the router to set up the wireless connection.
