Need help in going Wireless

Question

Dell notebookWindows XP Pro I have only one computer, a Dell notebook - and have a DSL modem with an ethernet cable running from the DSL modem into the RJ-45 jack in the side of the notebook. At some future time, I may want to buy an additional computer or two so I want the hardware I need to go wireless to take into account the possiblity of adding more computers to the network.  But for now, I just want not to be tethered to a cable, so I want to go wireless.  I'm thinking a Linksys -g PC card and a -g Linksys router/access point with 4 switch ports.  The B standard would be sufficient, but for the difference in price I want to plan for the future with the -g standard (I guess that has been ratified, right?)  Anyone know of any good links to pages that will help me with this installation and configuration?

Linksys has an excellent tutorial on small network setup, as does HomeHetHelp.com. I agree with your thoughts about 802.11g...and yes, it's now an official standard. Jim
