Need help, please....

At work we have Dell Latitude D600's.. My previous job, I found out that it had a wireless card already installed in the laptop. Not having admin rights, I did not watch the desktop support guy activate my card. I am now in a new position and I have admin rights, but I am having trouble determining if and what type of wireless card is installed. Is there somewhere on the laptop where I can check?

I have checked in the following section (clicked on start, run, typed in msinfo32.exe.. which brought up the system information folder) as indicated by Debb. But I can't tell what I am suppose to be looking for. I had several listings, and one had a MAC address, but it did not match any of the "options" that Dell said would be installed..

Not sure if I am looking in the wrong place or looking too hard. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

forgot the rest of the section.. I clicked on Components, then Network, then Adapter...

jenetten,

Open Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters entry.  All the network adapters in the system will be listed there.

If the only items listed in the device manager are as follows does this mean I do not have one on this laptop?

Broadcom 570x gigabit Integrated Controller

Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller - Deterministic Network Enhancer Miniport

or is the Miniport the wireless card maybe??

jenetten,

Those entries are for the wired ethernet network adapter.

This link shows how to open the mini-pci door on the bottom of the D600.  Remove the one screw and you can look inside to see if the mini-pci slot is used.  That's where an internal wireless network adapter would be.

On that same screen, up at the top, you can "select another system" and enter the D600's service tag number.  Then click the "Original Confoguration" link.
