Need help with Bluetooth Headsets.

I sure hope I am asking this question in the right place, I might need to be in laptops.  (This should tell you how lost I am already....)                 Hi
I hope someone can help me with a question I have.   At home, we have three Dell Bluetooth Computers
(M1330, M1530, and Mini 9).  When I ordered them, I was smart enough to know that I wanted to get bluetooth
installed during the build of the computer, and I did.  Then I turned right around I did something dumb.

I did not buy the Dell recommended bluetooth headset during my build.  Of course, now I want one, and I am
CLUELESS as to which bluetooth headset(s) I need to purchase for these three computers.  Is there anyone out
there that did not make my foolish mistake and bought the headset for their computer or knows which one of
the Dell headsets fits those three computers and would be so kind as to give me the part number or the name
of the Dell headset that I SHOULD have bought during building the computer?

I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me.  My much better half announced yesterday he would
like to have Bluetooth headset and I thought "Hey, lets get him one as part of his Valentine's Day Gift, and get
one for the rest of the computer(s) too!"  I just can not figure out what to buy, and the last thing I want to do
is order the wrong thing and then have to return it.  Any help would be appreciated very much.  I would call
in and ask Dell for help, but my husband is right with me today and he does not look like he will be leaving
anytime soon.....  Thanks!

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you're limited to just the bluetooth headsets Dell sell?

I'd have thought you could use ANY bluetooth headset - such as the ones you use with mobile/cell phones :emotion-55:

Do either of you have a bluetooth headset already?

If not, I'd suggest you try and borrow one from a friend, to see if you can pair it with any of/all your laptops?

Assuming you can... you'll almost certainly be able to use any bluetooth headset on the market :emotion-55:

In fact - I've just had a quick look on the Dell UK website, and see they sell a variety of bluetooth headsets, from a number of different manufacturers - i.e. Logitech, Creative, Plantronics (<-- my personal favourite headset manufacturer) etc.

That suggests to me you can use any bluetooth headset available, so just pick one in your price range you like the look of.

But it doesn't have to be ordered from Dell!  Their prices on headsets could well be competitive - I don't know?

But shop around anyway, to see what sort of prices the same headsets are available for elsewhere, before ordering :emotion-5:

Hi

I think you are 100% correct that it does not have to be a Dell Bluetooth Headset, but I figured that with my computers all being Dell that staying with the Dell family of products I have access to support on the bluetooth and if they end up at some point with new drivers for the bluetooth cards it would be easier to work with, if that makes any sense.......  (I am not sure if that even makes sense to me LOL! :emotion-42:

I believe that you are right about taking a look around and seeing what else is compatible and affordable too.   I honestly thought that someone with Dell might post, They would know about the headsets and what works with what.

I do have access to a Plantronics 590 A unit that I could try out. I like that headset because it seems versatile.  I noticed the 590 A  price has dropped about $30.  You mentioned that Plantronics was your fave...  Which one if I might ask?

Thank you very much for your help.  You definetly got me thinking outside of the Dell box on the headset.  I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post.  Take care!

I still have an older Voyager 510 which I keep in the 'cubby hole' of my car for Justin (just in case :emotion-2:).

But the one I use most is my Discovery 665.

You'll find both of those (among others) in Plantronics current 'Clearance' section :emotion-5:

It may do nothing more than confuse you... but I've also got a Sennheiser VMX 100 :emotion-4:
