need some help with my optiplex...

I have a Optiplex, and I found a modem laying around, put it in and now I get a PCI simple Communication Controller, message, it can't find what it needs to install it.
Yes, I have downloaded all of the latest drivers, Bios...
Yes, the modem does work, tried on diff. PC with Win98.
but still get the same message.
Anyone out there have any clues?

Install the driver for the card for the OS that you're running. The Win98 system probably has the drivers either native, or they were previously already installed on that (the PnP feature will load the driver if the hardware is found during boot).

PCI simple Communication Controller, This is a winmodem and windows doesnt have the drivers for this WINMODEM built in.

You may also need chipset drivers so that the PCI bus is correct.
