.net runtime error R6029 freezing PC
Hi I am new to the forum. I have a Dell Laptop E1705 with Windows XP media. I am surprised that I do not see any posts here regarding this error. When I searched for it on the internet, there were tons of results - including many for Dell [unfortunately, I could not find a fix for this that I can understand. I tried using RegCure but it seemed to make things worse..
Anyway, recently I started getting this dreaded error message. I have no idea why it started up - perhaps an automatic update? Anyway, then the day before yesterday my pc crashed when I was viewing a site [I do not remember which] and since then, my pc freezes up everytime Windows XP loads.
Is there a fix for this?
I have not been able to use my PC for two days now [I borrowed this one] and it is my LIFELINE. So, if anyone can help I will be forever grateful!!

Is your computer free of viruses/trojans/malware/spyware? Have you tried using System Restore from Safe Mode to return your system to a condition it was in prior to having this problem? What is the FULL and EXACT text of the error message?

Since my first post I used a program that fixes corrupted .net files [viju666.googlepages.com]. I re-installed iexplorer7 and I am not getting the R6029 runtime error and my pc is not freezing up. So I cannot recreate the exact message. All I can tell you is that the file dsc\bin\sprtcmd.exe was in the upper left hand corner of the error box and the message said that the current version of Microsoft.net cannot run this file or program. That's all I remember - sorry.
I do not have any problems with viruses etc. The trend virus program checks for them frequently.
Now when xp loads, I get a dialog box that says
dsca.exe did not initialize properly and is being shutdown.
It appears that this is a Dell program as it is with the Dell files /support center/gs_agent/custom.
I really would like to better understand the .net issues.
When my pc does it's auto upgrade for windows, are the Microsoft.net files updated too? And if so, why would there ever be a problem caused because the .net version cannot run software programs that exist prio to the upgrades. Certainly if the software was there first, the upgraded .net files should work on them.
How does one find the .net files for upgrading if one needs to?
Thanks for your help!

Sorry, I have no idea what a Microsoft .net program is.

It's the program [they sometimes refer to it as a 'foundation'] that allows windows to run third party programs. Every third party program contains this and Microsoft keeps updating it.
I guess I will try to get Microsoft to explain this to me.
In the meantime, do you know why I am now getting the message that dcsa.exe is not inititialized and has shut down
thks

I did a google search for the download and found it that way then installed it. It appears that it corrected the initialization problem with dcsa.exe as I am not getting the error message anymore.
Thanks for your help!
