Net via wi-fi dial-up

Tried sending this message once before, must have been to long...never got posted as I could tell.  Here's my problem again...

I need to hook my Windows ME Inspiron 5100 with a Dell Truemobile 1400 Dual Band WLAN mini PCI card to the internet via the Blitzz Wireless Router to my Windows ME Desktop that connects to the internet via dial-up ISP and the router via Ethernet.  I currently can read files and print via the Wi Fi (Notebook sends info wireless to Desktop which sends it to USB printer).  How do I tell my notebook to have the desktop dial the internet connection and send the resulting info to the notebook?  Broadband Internet does not exist where I live.  Thanks, Dave

You have to turn on sharing for the modem, then I think you can use the other machine to get on the net with..

I could be wrong.

Thanks.  I right clicked and didn't find where to share the modem...or the dial-up settings.  Since then I even tried to use the connection on the desktop by opening the C drive folder, and starting the Internet Explorer program via the wireless.  It still looks for the modem connection on the laptop and not the desktop...hence I get "no dial tone message".  Thanks for the idea though.

Oh I just read my first post.  The Inspiron 5100 is running Windows XP home NOT Windows ME.  The desktop is the Windows ME.  Sorry.

Peanut Pair - this is a commonly asked question (I may end up writing a FAQ about it), but for now, if you do a search, you will find multiple posts by me about how to do this.

Matt - write the FAQ (be detailed) and send it to Bob for inclusion.  The more we can get into FAQ form, the easier this support work gets.

Well, I gave up.  Call me a whimp.  Call me a newbie.  Call me technical support!  I tried several things (and I DO appreciate your help), but in the process I lost the network connection totally 1st.  The previously communicating computers ignored each other.  I ran the wizards and tried to re-establish connection.  My brother-in-law talked me through it in a 2 hour long-distance call.  And finally we forced some connections, but alas it destoyed my email/internet dial-up.  I ended up re-installing Windows on the desktop after I disconnected all the USB devices/installed PCI cards inside/and two days later I now have two working computers, wireless network with "Network Mapped Drives" visible to each, and a printer that prints.  I am building the email file as I lost the addresses.  AND...I will wait for the broadband cable to arrive at my doorstep...in 1 month to 2 years according to the company.  Again, thanks...if you still have input I would appreciate, but it isn't a burning desire as much as having my network stay stable.
