I am having a similar problem. I have (had?) a wireless network using a D-Link router and 2 desktop adapters (WDA-1320). One of the adapters was installed on a desktop running Windows XP, SP 2, and it worked fine until I removed it and reinstalled it on a Dell Dimension 8200 also running Windows XP, SP2. Device Manager eventually found it but with the ominous yellow ballon and exclamation mark, complete with Code 10 error message. Have tried uninstall, reinstall, etc. D-Link support threw up its hands and referred me to Dell. System simply can't find the wireless network. Any suggestions?
