Network Adapter problem

Question

I'm having trouble getting my dell to talk to my network using windows 98. In System Properties>Network Adapters>Existing Ndis2 Driver I get a device status of 'The NDIS.VXD device loaders for this device could not load the device driver (Code 2)'I have tried updating the device drivers from my Windows CD ROM but this does not fix the problem.Any advice would be appreciated. Have you tried using the driver for your NIC from Dell?  Downloads tab above.

I'm seeing the same problem trying to use a 3Com Etherlink III Lan PC Card - 3589D. Tried both the drivers on Windows 98 CD and those I downloaded from 3Com. Same error every time. Even tried a different card Model 3CCE589ET. Same problem.

Any ideas?
