Network adapter upgrade.

I have a Inspiron 1545 with a dual boot drive running Vista 32bit and  7 Pro 64bit. I just upgraded the network adapter from the oem which I think is made by broadcom to an Intel N3260, downloaded software and drivers from Intel's website support  and it works perfectly in 7 Pro, however its not working in Vista. In device manager the network controller is listed as having no driver installed. I have looked all over the place but can't seem to locate one neither can the windows auto search. Any ideas as to what is going wrong anyone?
