Download and install the drivers on the 2300.   Did you read my last post?

Did you install the drivers in the correct order - the chipset drivers MUST be installed before any other device drivers.  Otherwise, the drivers for the network adapter can be found at:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R48857&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_2300&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2731&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=57536

Did you install the chipset drivers before even attempting to install other device drivers?  Without the chipset drivers, Window will not be able to recongize nor install drivers for many other devices.

Is the network adapter disabled in the BIOS?

You can try taking the adapter out of the existing PCI slot and put it inside another slot. This might help.

Is the network adapter not showing completely? Can you see it in device manager under network adapters and are you sure u have the right drivers on hand?

might try adding new hardware tab  in control panel , if using vista, under classic view

willoneone,

The chipset drivers are the drivers listed on the Dell download page under the topic Chipset.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_2300&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid

I pointed you to the drivers for the network adapter in a previous post.

Did you download the network drivers from the following site:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R48857&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_2300&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2731&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=57536

You will need to download these on a computer with an internet connection, move the file to your problem computer, then run the file to install the drivers.
