The network address is the IP address.  Have you set the TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP address automically?  The router should assign the IP address if the router and TCP/IP properties are setup properly.

You need to make the wireless network settings on the computer consistent with the security settings on the router.  Are you using WEP encrpytion or WEP encryption?

Thanks for the info.

I disable the security settings and am posting from the Dim3000 right now.

We definitely do not want to leave the security disabled, so how do we stay connected AND get back security??

Yes, on both computers, it's set to obtain the IP address automatically.

On the second computer, there is already a dial-up connection.......could this be causing a problem??

Thanks.

Is the dialup connection making a connection?  It should not play a role if you have the Internet Explorer Options set to Never Dial a Connection.   Have you set up any wireless security options on the router?  If so, disable them until you get the wireless network to work.

You've never said which model router you have, and I certainly don't know the set up routines for all routers.   Why don't you just reset the router to factory settings, and start over again.

Steve,

I believe ours is WPA encryption.

We probably have several keys because when we got to the point where it asked for a passphrase, we entered one and clicked on generate....it generated four keys and we clicked 'apply'.

We thought we would then get taken to another screen or see something that said 'finished', etc.

When the same screen came back again we generated keys again.  This happened probably three times.  How can I find where these keys are listed and delete all but one of them?

Thanks.

The router is Netgear WGT624 108Mbps Wireless Firewall Router with an 108 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter.

That router has a reset button on the back of the router.  Press the reset button and hold it for about 5 seconds to reset to factory settings.  The manual for your router can be found at:
