Network and internet conection not availible
Just bought myself a new computer, so I reformated my old vostro 200 and installed win vista basic and drivers with dell's driver disk and the computer does not see any networks or routers. firewall is off network discovery in on, manage neworks show null, comcast "gatway" is hooked up via ethernet cord. lights are on. I am stuck. Any help?

If you did not install the network driver that could be the problem. Also, if you check Device Manager, does it is show anything with a !, ? or red X on it?

Device Manager-
! Ethernet controller- Drivers not installed
!SM Bus Controller- Drivers not installed
I am going to DL the dirver you posted and give a try.

Problem solved.
Network drivers installed and working
Dell's driver disk did not have the correct drivers for this issue
