network cable is unplugged

Question

I cannot access thge internet through my linksys. fn+f2 indicates that my switch is on but I am getting a red x through my lower right corner icon for the internet connection.  When I drag the cursor over that item it reads Local area connection-a network cable is unplugged??   Any help

That is perfectly normal if you do not have a cable connected into the LAN socket. It will not affect your wireless connection.

I have both DSL and cable where I am. When I plug the cable connection in the port-no internet. When I try to access it via the DSL through linksys-no internet. So I really don't understand why I have no connection on either?
