Network Card Indicator Lights

I have recently purchased a Dimension 8300 system with an Intel Pro 100M Integrated PCI NIC card.  I am trying to install SBC Yahoo DSL, but I am having trouble with communication between my computer and the provider's system.  I see that there are two lights on the back near by Ethernet connection.  Currently the top one is red and the bottom one flashes yellow.  I would like to learn how to interpet the info being provided by these lights.  Where can I find this info?

I am also having some problems and am confused by the red light also.

When trying to Google for information, most refer to a GREEN light.

I cannot find anywhere where it states if that light must be GREEN  or is RED acceptable?

Verizon DSL told me that the light must be GREEN and if it is RED, then there is a problem with the Ethernet Card.

Does anyone know about the RED light?

Thanks!
