NETWORK CARD NOT FOUND

Notebook Detail: Inspron 5100, Windows XP,P4 2.8Ghz
Network Card: Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
External Netgear PC card installed

I have to get Pro-e installed on my machine to work from my home, when i try to get it installed i see message

"Host ID (This is nothing but physical address) cannot be recognised, Network card not found, Make sure that Ethernet card installed and configured"

But i can see physical address of my machine, when i type ipconfig/all in command prompt, and device manager says network card functions properly.
I appreciate your help in solving this problem.

Unfortunately this forum is for BIOS related questions regarding the Dimension line of desktops so I doubt you will receive many replies.  Your best bet is to monitor the Inspiron - Network forum which you also posted in.  That forum would be a better venue in which to receive some useful replies.
