Network Comcast Internet Service?
I have a one desktop and a laptop and thinking about wireless Comcast Networking Internet so I can have both computer on the Internet. They want a $100.00 to set it up off my already Comcast internet service on one computer. Does that price sound right or is there anything cheaper I can buy to do it myself?
Thanks
Kimberly

You can buy a wireless cable/dsl router for for about $60 (check the ads in Sunday's paper for Best Buy, CompUSA, Office Depot, Office Max, Circuit City, etc.) You will also need to make sure that you have a wireless network card in the laptop. Instructions for setting it up can found in the documentation that comes with the router. Usually it will work with the default settings on the computers and in the router, although security is another issue that you will have to spend some time researching. I doubt that Comcast will deal with the security issues. If you feel unconfortable setting up the network and if the Comcast charge of $100 includes the router, the wireless network card, and set up, then $100 might be a reasonable price.

Thanks a ton. Comcast said they could fix the laptop to be wireless but never gave me a cost. They did say for the $100.00 my router network thing would be covered by them and they would fix it if any problems came up.
Thanks
