Network Connections ICONS missing..PLEASE HELP!!

Hello all, I have a Dell 2400 and Windows xp operating system. My computer is about one year old. My problem is..my LAN or high speed and other icons located in the network connections space is gone. I have SBC Yahoo DSL and I had problems yesterday. Customer service advised me to code words into the RUN command. I was able to access the internet that night. Today I could not use the internet and I noticed I don't have a network connection...it is completely gone. I have no clue how to reinstate my icons. Please help me...I am pulling my hair over here..

Thanks!!!

Go to Start > Help and Support and type System Restore into the Search box.  You would be amazed at how much information is available to you on your computer.

System Restore should put the drivers back the way they were.  Just choose the nearest date when it was working.
