network controller driver

Question

I recently reinstalled xp on my 600m and am having trouble with locating a driver.  The device manager still does not recognize what it sees as a 'network controller'.  I am guessing it has something to do with my wireless connection, b/c I have yet to get that working yet either.    However the LAN works.  The Dell driver site as numerous (around 15) network drivers, most of which say do not use if in North America or Japan.  I still tried many of them with no luck.    If anyone knows the correct drivers for the 'network controller' and WLAN I would appreciate it.     paul

Did you load the chipset driver?  You need to be more specific with the equipment you have.

I have a 1.7 600m centrino. I reformatted the hd with XP and had to reinstall the drivers. The only thing the device manager still does not recognize is a 'network controller'. Any help?

What wireless card did your laptop come with? If you can answer this... we can tell you exactly what you need to know. There aren't too many options:

Dell TM1300 or 1350
Dell TM1400 or 1450
Intel PRO/Wireless 2100
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Between those six cards are only three options for drivers, as the 13xx and 14xx cards from Dell all use the same drivers.
