Did you also install the ChipSet driver, first?

To find and download the drivers for your system, scroll down the page on click on
"Drivers and Downloads". Then enter your Service Tag or model number of your computer.
Select your operating system and then download the drivers that you need.

Hi jmwills, I have installed the drivers only after checking the order in which they have been specified by the DELL people. Still the network controller and PCI Device is throwing an error, it could not be a problem with hardware as it was working fine till yesterday. Can you please tell me what device does network controller and PCI device indicate, if you could can you please help me find the manufacturer or model name for these devices present in the DELL Inspiron E1405. Thanks in anticipation.

Download and install Belarc Advisor and it will generate an inventory of all devices.  The one that is not installed is probably the wireless card and the PCI device will be cleared up by the mobile chipset, I believe.
