Network controller on windows xp SP2

Question

I've recently installed windows xp prof SP2 on my Dell Latitude C840 notebook. However it does not have the network controller and the PSI modem drivers. I need help downloading the right driver off the dell site.    Thanks

All drivers for that system can be found at:   http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=LAT_PNT_P4_C840&os=WW1&osl=EN   The modem is the Conexant device under Coimmunication and the network adapter is the 3COM device under Network.   Steve

Im sorry but neither of them seem to make any difference. under network adapters it shows that i already have the 3com driver but there is an exclaimation mark on the network controller driver. The modem one did not make any difference either.

Did you install the chipset drivers before even attempting to install any other device drivers?  Without the chipset drivers, Windows will not be able to properly recognize or install drivers for many devices.  Do you also have a wireless network adapter in that machine?   Steve

I do not know what you mean by chipset drivers but no I do not have the wireless network adapter installed.

Edit: Never mind... i have the chipset drivers installed
