network disconnect when loading high resolution pictures

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4   I am experiencing repeated disconnects from my Comcast Cable internet when using my Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop (running Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 SP3) with Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network card connected thru my Netgear WGR614v2 wireless router. The problem is most noticeable when opening a web page with a large number (more than 10?) of multiple high-resolution jpeg photos (example: http://www.darkroastedblend.com/ disconnects me almost every time). A few of the pictures loaded successfully, a few more loaded partially, and then my web browser froze and never finished loading the rest of the pictures. Eventually, the browser displays “Page Load Error”, “Network Timeout”, or “Address not found”. I attempted to open other web pages in separate tabs but got no response. I tried to download e-mail thru Microsoft Outlook but timed out waiting for a response. The Wireless Network Connection display in my System Tray continues to display Status: Connected with Signal Strength: Excellent and Speed: 54.0  Mbps. Shutting down the browser and restarting does not help. I could not access the Internet again thru either my web browser or Microsoft Outlook until I unplugged the Netgear router, plugged it in again, and waited for it to reconnect.  I also am sometimes disconnected when using Skype with video. I normally do not have a problem with text, a small quantity of pictures, or downloading a single large jpeg, mp3, or mpeg file. If I connect the laptop directly to the cable modem, I do not have a problem. If I use another computer with the same wireless router, I do not have a problem. If I use the laptop in another location with public Wi-Fi, I do not have a problem. I have upgraded the Netgear router firmware from version 2.05 to V2.16RC4_1.0.2 – did not resolve the problem. I have contacted Netgear Tech Support but so far, they have not been able to resolve the problem. Any suggestions?
