network driver interfering with start-up

Anyone else has this problem?  I have xp pro x64 on my latitude e5400.  It takes about 3 minutes to get from the login screen to the desktop to when all the icons to show.  If I uninstall the network driver, the problem goes away and the login takes only a few seconds.  All the drivers I got from the dell driver download website.  Any idea anyone?
